Ultimate boutique cruise--much like a private club or your own yacht. Relaxed atmosphere with informal dress in the daytime and country club casual at night. Ultra-luxury lifestyle with the highest level of service, comfort, quality, and amenities at an all-inclusive price. The relaxed, comfortable SeaDream "theme" is felt throughout the ships, from the SeaDream beds on deck to the luxurious linens in the cabins to the exceptional service from all the crew.

SeaDream Yacht Club Cruise Ships:
SeaDream Yacht Club operates two identical yacht-like ships--the SeaDream I and SeaDream II. Both ships are 4260 tons and have space for 110 passengers and 89 crew. The two ships were built in 1984/1985 and were once named the Seabourn Goddess I and II and the Sea Goddess I and II. They were significantly refurbished in 2002.

SeaDream Yacht Club Passenger Profile:
Passengers are mostly middle-aged couples, but might be younger than on other ultra-luxury ships. Of the 100 we sailed with on SeaDream 1, about 1/4 were under 40, 1/2 in their 50's and early 60's, and 1/4 over 65. People with sophisticated tastes who dislke dressing up and enjoy the independence on a small ship will love SeaDream. Most passengers will be well-traveled and not miss the lack of structured entertainment and activities. These ships do not provide special activities for children.

SeaDream Yacht Club Suites and Cabins:
The SeaDream yachts have 3 classes in their 54 cabins and suites. The 195 sq. ft. Yacht Club (standard) Cabins include a queen bed (or 2 twin beds), picture window, sofa, chair, dressing table with make-up mirror and hair dryer, safe, refrigerator stocked with beer and soft drinks, flat-screen TV, DVD and CD player. The bath is marble and very small, but the multi-jet shower is terrific. Passengers can use the bathrobes and slippers while on board. Designer amenities are provided in the bath. The cabins also have a telephone and an Internet hook up, but the Internet cost ($35 per day) is much higher than using the ship's computer in the library. The 16 Commodore Suites are really double (380 sq. ft.) cabins and therefore have 2 baths. The second cabin is made up as a lounge area with a table and chairs and has an interconnecting door to the sleeping area. The Owner's Suite (490 sq. ft.) is the only cabin with a full-size tub and a larger bath. None of the cabins have a balcony.

SeaDream Yacht Club Cuisine and Dining:
The SeaDream ships excel in their two dining venues, and all meals are memorable. Casual meals are served outdoors at the covered Topside Restaurant on deck 5, and elegant dinners are in the dining salon on deck 2. Dining salon dinners are what you expect from an ultra-luxury ship--beautiful table settings; fresh, high-quality ingredients; and an unhurried, European style of perfect service. Complimentary wines are included at lunch and dinner, and the ships also have a large wine cellar.

SeaDream Yacht Club Onboard Activities and Entertainment:
Spending time ashore and participating in water sports off the marina on the rear of the ship are the main activities on the SeaDream ships. There is no bingo, entertainment (other than a pianist and a "disco" at night), or organized on board activity. The ship provides DVD movies to watch in your cabin, and sets up a large screen in the main lounge for a nightly movie. A beach barbecue, complete with "surfboard" caviar and champagne, is a highlight of all SeaDream Caribbean cruises.

SeaDream Yacht Club Common Areas:
The ships have a clean, sophisticated look, with fresh flowers and interesting artwork throughout. The main lounge has a small dance floor and stage. The casino is tiny, with slot machines, blackjack, and poker. The library is lovely and well-stocked with the latest hardback books and two Internet computers. The pool area has plenty of comfortable lounges and a hot tub. The Balinese sun beds are a SeaDream signature item and are well-padded and elevated so you can see over the railing.

SeaDream Yacht Club Spa, Gym, and Fitness:
The ships have an Asian Spa/Wellness Center and a small fitness center and beauty salon. The excellent massages and other spa services complement the pampered feeling you get on the rest of the ship. Golfers enjoyed the electronic golf simulator set up to play several famous golf courses. On our Caribbean cruise, we all enjoyed the water platform off the rear deck featuring jet skis, kayaks, sailboat, and "banana boat" riding behind the Zodiacs. The ships also have mountain bikes to use ashore.

More on the SeaDream Yacht Club:
The two small SeaDream ships sail the Caribbean in the winter and cross the Atlantic to the Mediterranean in the summer. Most cruises are for seven days.
